Great Lakes - Galley

At Naval Station Great Lakes there are multiple opportunities for recruits and sailors to find outstanding meals with variety, healthy choices and menus that can satisfy all tastes. A dedicated staff of over 1000 individuals, most with significant disabilities, serve the Navy under the AbilityOne program, ensuring over 8.5 million meals are provided annually at 10 locations throughout the base including the Recruit Training Command.  Sailors at TSC dine at Galley 535, the largest ashore galley in the US, which features seven different themed lines from burgers and gourmet deli sandwiches to Asian specialties.  Each line incorporates all-you-can-eat salad, soup and fruit bars.  In addition, special events and themed menus are featured on a regular basis to help make visits fun and exciting.  RTC access is restricted, so only staff and recruits onboard RTC may dine at that site. Throughout Naval Station Great Lakes, the Galley staff strives to keep the highest levels of customer service, maintaining a 98% customer satisfaction rate in independent reviews.  Excellence isn't just something the galleys talk about, it's something that's practiced each and every day.
