28th Annual Polar Bear Plunge

Join NAVSTA Great Lakes MWR Community Recreation for the 28th Annual Polar Bear Plunge on Saturday, January 31 at the boat launch area of the Marina. Registration will be from 10 to 11 AM. You must be in line by 11 AM to register prior to jumping. Jumping begins at 11 AM, and no pets are allowed to plunge. All participants must wear closed toed shoes (no crocs), no masks are allowed, and costumes are encouraged! 

The command with the most participation, by percentage, will be recognized and awarded!

Participants ages 12 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and sign a waiver. Children under the age of 12 are not allowed to jump, for safety reasons. Active duty members who are 17 are able to jump without a parent/guardian present. 

We will also have a warm bonfire for after you jump and souvenir and event apparel will be available for purchase.
